Southend Conservatory Refurbishment
Turning an old conservatory into a stunning living and dining area that is useable all year round.
Our customer approached us with the challenge of refurbishing this double glazed conservatory in Southend, Essex, so that it could be converted into a dining area that could be enjoyed all year round.
In the winter the old Conservatory structure was too cold and that was mainly to do with the old glazing which included a thin polycarbonate roof.
We needed to design and install a new and improved version whilst retaining the existing brickwork. The roofing system that we identified to be most suitable was the ‘livin roof’ by Ultra-frame.
This incorporates solid insulated panels in a modern grey finish with thermally efficient glazed sections to let the natural light flood in without letting the heat out.
This system is intended to replicate an extension rather than traditional conservatory and is designed to meet all modern building regulations.
We renewed the windows and bi-folding doors in white powder coated aluminium to withstand the harshest weather and significantly improve the levels of security.
It was rendered, plastered and decorated and our customer is now enjoying this light and airy living space.
We really enjoyed carrying this work out creating a modern living area that really has improved the property and one which will almost certainly add value.
