When the client contacted us they already had an existing conservatory however they found themselves unable to utilise the space frequently due to it being either too hot or too cold. During the discussions with our design consultant we outlined the main objectives for the refurbishment project.
There were a few key points to consider:
- Create a useable dining space by renovating the existing conservatory.
- To make the space useable throughout the year; warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
- Open up the space into the living room to create one large space for the family to enjoy.
- We had to project manage the entire process to ensure that everything was fitted on schedule and to budget.
We then came up with a solution to cover all of these requirements and provide this stunning double glazed conservatory they can now use all year round.
Double Glazed Conservatory Security
At Rayleigh Glass we include as standard a lot of security features many of competitors charge extra for or even worse leave out entirely, making your lovely new double glazed conservatory an easy access point for criminals. We would always advise that you check with your home insurance that your conservatory doors are up to the security standard they require.
We fit Ultion locks that are so good that they have a £1000 guarantee if some one manages to break them.
Energy Efficient Roof System
The roof system is highly insulated and fitted with composite tiles to the exterior which means that it keeps out all the nasty weather, this makes this beautiful double glazed conservatory usable in all weathers and as a bonus it is almost maintenance free.
Interior Design Features
To make the double glazed conservatory look like more of a continuation of the living room, the ceiling inside has a plaster finish with spotlights and this really adds a sense of increased space.
Opening Up The Interior Space
Part of the existing lounge wall was removed with a new load bearing lintel installed to accommodate new bi-folding doors that could be opened up to provide a continuous space between the dining area and lounge.
We made sure that everything was organised including renewing the electrics, plastering and plumbing.
The client now has a fantastic space that can be used all year round because it retains the heat in the colder months but doesn’t get too hot in the summer.
